Block Sonar – Has there ever been a time where you wish you could get diamonds easily without cheating too much? Then this mod is for you!
The Block Sonar Mod is a mod for Minecraft that allows you to find any sort of block through the power of sonar. This means that you can find blocks a little easier, but at the same time, maintain the challenge of trying to find the blocks. Now, you can find those impossible to find diamonds!
You might be wondering, “how exactly does this make it easier to find a block I want?” Well, it’s simple! First, you craft the Sonar Block with the crafting recipe below:
Then right click the sonar block, and place the ore or material you want in the bottom left corner! Currently, the Block Sonar mod only supports Diamonds, Redstone, Gold Ingots, Iron ore, and coal.
Now for the downsides, or challenges, of this mod depending on how you look at it. First of all, you will need two diamonds to craft the sonar block. On top of that, the recipe also calls for obsidian, meaning you need another three diamonds to make the diamond pickaxe to mine obsidian. If you don’t think that’s too much, you will need to find redstone too. Secondly, you will need to have the item in order to find more of it. So if you want to find diamonds, you need to have a spare diamond lying around. Additionally, you will only have five minutes before the sonar block turns off.
Thirdly, you will need to stock up on obsidian, because every time you destroy the sonar block, it will turn into a “Spent Sonar” block, meaning it’s useless. In order to turn it back into a regular sonar block again, you will need to place a piece of obsidian with it, like below:
Even though the difficulty to acquire this in survival mode is insane, it’s probably to keep the balance. After all, it wouldn’t be too much fun if you could make this out of wood and find any item you want without actually owning it. So in the end, I would recommend the Block Sonar mod for people who would like to find items at an easier rate, but at the same time, not destroying the whole point of mining.
