Craft and Enchant Mod

Enchanting items in Minecraft is nice, and can really be a thrilling experience because of the gamble you have to take when you’re enchanting something. The stakes can be quite high, especially if you have a diamond sword, or something of that sort. The problem with this, however, is that at times, the stakes are really high, and taking a gamble on your sword can sometimes become a little overwhelming. In normal terms, let’s just say that you don’t want a bad enchantment on your only diamond sword.

Luckily, there’s a mod that fixes this, and it’s called the Craft and Enchant Mod. This enchantment mod is a mod that makes it so you don’t have to gamble on enchantments anymore, at the cost of more resources and a little bit of exploring. Unlike before, where you just place your item into an enchantment table, you can now craft scrolls that give you certain enchantments instead. For example, if you want a fire enchantment, all you need to do is combine a piece of paper with blaze powder, and then place the scroll into the new enchantment table.

You might think, “well, that makes the old enchantment table useless!” Thankfully, this mod has a fix for that. By that, I mean that this mod requires you to put your sword into the normal enchantment table, but rather than getting enchantments from this table, you get slots. From there, you can use the other table to fill those slots up with your desired enchantments. In my opinion, this is an incredible fix, and very out of the box on top of that. It really takes out the guessing part of enchantments, and makes enchanting more fair instead.

This mod can really save you at times. Let’s say that you are about to tackle this tower full of zombies in a custom map. Sure, it’s possible to do it with a normal sword and all, but if you really want to clear it, you would opt for fire aspect, smite, and sharpness enchantments. Without this mod, you might end up getting the bane of arthropods enchantment, which essentially doesn’t even affect zombies. This means that you will end up having to make a completely new sword in hopes of getting a new enchantment. Thanks to this mod, you can make a sword that specializes in slaying zombies, allowing you to reach your goal at a faster rate.

All in all, this mod is really nice, and very unique on top of that. In my opinion, this mod should be incorporated into the stock version of Minecraft because it’s more fair to the user. Sure, it can be abused in multiplayer game modes, giving high level people a massive advantage, but at the same token, you also have a chance to acquire this advantage, meaning that it balances out in the end. It could also add some strategy to fights. For example, let’s say that you’re with a friend. You can give that friend a sword that sets foes on fire, while you have the sword that has sharpness buffs on it, allowing for a great duo that can take out practically anyone if executed properly.
